Christopher Smith

Senior Veterinarian and Director (BSc BVSc Veterinary Science )

Chris grew up in a coastal town in South Africa, spending most of his childhood in the bush or by the ocean. He graduated in 2015 and then worked in an animal charity hospital as well as in public health before immigrating to Australia with his wife, Steph. They travelled around Australia – from South Australia to WA, finally putting down roots in the beautiful Noosa. After working locally for the last few years, Chris decided it was time to channel his experience and passion into his own business and purchased Eumundi Vets.

While being knowledgeable in all areas of Veterinary, Chris’s interests lie in surgery. Chris enjoys forming long lasting relationships with his clients and patients. He is practical and understands that treatments need to be tailored to the individual and is committed to achieving the best outcomes for his patients.

Outside of work, Chris is a fishing fanatic. During his down time, he can be found on his offshore kayak or up the beach. He also loves spending time with his family, especially his little son, Luka, who you may see around the clinic from time to time – helping out dad.

Stephanie Smith

Senior Veterinarian (BSc BVSc Veterinary Science )

Steph, born and bred in South Africa, graduated in 2015, with her now husband, Chris. After working in a large charity animal hospital in South Africa, she immigrated with Chris to Australia which they now call home.

Steph has a passion for delivering gold standard care to her patients. She has undergone specialty training in medicine, emergency and critical care, anaesthesia and surgery during two internship years at both the University of Queensland and Murdoch University. At this time, Steph wanted to peruse specialising in small animal medicine, but missed the variety of general practice and so moved back into GP work having gained valuable experience.

Steph has been working in Noosa for the last 3 years. While her interests lean towards working up complex medicine cases she also has a passion for critical care of emergency patients. Steph also enjoys surgery, from routine everyday procedures to emergency surgeries.

Steph is passionate about her patients and will always try to go the extra mile to obtain a good outcome for both pet owner and pet. She is committed to trying to making your pet's visit to the vet a positive one and is a certified fear free practitioner.

Outside of work, Steph has a gorgeous son to keep her busy! She also loves spending time with her dogs on the beach or kayaking out at sea with her husband. Steph loves the outdoors and is passionate about recycling.
